I was born in the year of the dog, 1958. My birth certificate clarifies the initial confusion as to the precise month, but that’s another story. My relationship with dogs is coincidental and stems from a mixture of curiosity and need.
I grew up in, and around, San Francisco, California. A fair amount of my free time I spent reading, sitting in trees or in the company of animals. All three offered me the refuge and comfort I sought growing up.
I love how stories have the ability to transform the way I think. That’s one reason why I write. A few of the stories that changed my world view most are: Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens and The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison.
I started my blog, not because my story is so amazing, but because my story is so common – to engage in the social and natural world around me. Please feel free to join me, and leave a comment.
